Thea Bourdeau, MPH

she/her
Research Manager
United States

Thea Bourdeau (she/her) is a passionate and curious reproductive health researcher and analyst. A would-be speech pathologist, she chanced upon a documentary on the state of the US maternity care system during her senior year at Northeastern University, pivoted to public health, and has never looked back! Thea graduated from UC Berkeley with a Master of Public Health in Epidemiology & Biostatistics in 2021 and has spent the last five years working as a statistician at the Obstetrics Initiative, a quality improvement program focused on "right-sizing" the cesarean birth rate in the state of Michigan. She is one of two Co-Executive Directors of the Lunar Doula Collective, a group of volunteer doulas supporting Southeast Michigan families through pregnancy loss and abortion. When she's not working, Thea is reading, running, thrift shopping, or listening to Bruce Springsteen deep cuts. She loved her internship as a research assistant on the Later Abortion Initiative in 2020 and could not be more thrilled to return to Ibis as a research manager on the MORE Study.
