Lucía Berro Pizzarossa, PhD, LLM, LLB

Dr. Lucía Berro Pizzarossa is a British Academy International Fellow at the University of Birmingham and an affiliated researcher with the Global Health and Rights Project at Harvard Law School's Petrie-Flom Center. She previously held postdoctoral positions at the O’Neill Institute for National and Global Health Law at Georgetown University and the University of Groningen, where she earned her Ph.D. in International Law. Lucía also holds an M.Jur. from the University of Oxford and an LL.B. from Universidad de la República, Uruguay. Lucía has consulted for global organizations such as UNICEF, WHO, and the International Commission of Jurists. Her research, published in prestigious journals like Reproductive Health Matters and Harvard Health and Human Rights, focuses on reproductive justice and the legal dimensions of global health. She works in solidarity with grassroots movements including Women Help Women, the MAMA Network, and Abortion Without Borders, advocating for reproductive rights and self-managed abortion.
