Making Roe a reality for all

January 2015

In recognition of the 42nd anniversary of Roe v. Wade, we are excited to share powerful images that describe the reality of abortion access for many US women. Although Roe v. Wade legalized abortion more than four decades ago, numerous barriers prevent women from getting the care they need and deserve. One critical obstacle is cost, particularly for women using Medicaid who are susceptible to bans on abortion coverage.

These images, created by Megan Smith of Repeal Hyde Art Project, capture real women's stories that we gathered during our recent research examining abortion affordability and the impact of coverage bans. They illustrate the struggle and sacrifice many women and their families face in trying to access abortion care.

Please consider sharing these images on Facebook and Twitter to lift up women's voices, fight abortion stigma, and help us push to end abortion coverage bans. We hope you'll join us in working to make Roe a reality for all.
