Chelsea Tejada

Chelsea joined Ibis in the dual role of Executive Assistant and Research Assistant in early 2016. At Ibis, she provides support to the President, the Board, and ongoing research projects. Prior to joining Ibis’s Cambridge team, she gained a variety of research and professional experience in both Asia and Latin America. While on a Fulbright in Brazil, Chelsea worked with the local LGBT community, focusing on improving transgender women’s access to education and health resources. She previously worked as a legal assistant in New York and Mexico, providing translation and administrative support for cases focusing on matters like immigration and domestic violence. Her senior thesis analyzed the effects of the People’s Republic of China’s social policies on the status and personal lives of unmarried women in urban Mainland China. Chelsea holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Amherst College where she achieved a double-major in Sexuality, Women’s & Gender Studies and Asian Languages & Civilizations.
